Malheureusement dans la nature, les prairies sont devenues de plus en plus rares en raison de l'agriculture, mais à la place, nous avons vu une montée en popularité dans le jardinage domestique, avec une tendance à se détourner de la pelouse à l'anglaise méticuleusement entretenue en faveur des prairies.
