Description

If you are looking for an onion variety that grows really fast and is versatile in the kitchen, then 'De Barletta' might be just the right one for you.

After a short time, you can harvest the young crops and use them as pearl onions. These small onions are perfect for pickling or for fresh snacks and salads.

When 'De Barletta' matures, it forms medium-sized, flat, white onions. These onions have a mildly spicy flavour and a fine texture - perfect for eating raw.

A great feature of 'De Barletta' is its lack of skins. You don't need to peel the onions. However, this also means they are not suitable for storage.

Another remarkable feature is its frost resistance. 'De Barletta' can withstand very harsh winters. And in the cold season, you can harvest the fresh green tops and use them like chives or spring onions.
