Description
The chilli cultivar ‘Trinidad Scorpion Chocolate’ is a variant of the Trinidad Scorpion and, like it, originates from the Trinidad and Tobago region in the Caribbean.
This variety is among the hottest chillies in the world. The related Trinidad Scorpion ‘Moruga’ was considered the world’s hottest chilli until 2012. The ‘Chocolate’ variant is milder, and the characteristic ‘sting’ at the tip is less pronounced.
Its heat is reported to be around 1 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
The flavour is described as aromatically fruity – if it can still be perceived at such an intense level of heat.

Semis et entretien
Chilli plants can be grown as annuals outdoors or as long-lived container plants. We recommend overwintering them and keeping them as perennials, as the second year often brings a particularly abundant chilli harvest. Press the seeds into seed compost and keep them warm (around 24°C). Chilli seeds require plenty of warmth to germinate – a heated propagator can be especially helpful. Grows well indoors. Prefers a sunny position and nutrient-rich soil.
Chillies are heavy feeders and benefit from generous nitrogen fertilisation.
